Firewood

A very common question is "how much wood is in a cord?"  Well, a cord is a lot more than what most people think.  It is 128 cubic feet, or specifically, a stack that is 8 feet long, 4 feet high, and 4 feet wide.  If the wood is cut in 16" pieces, that would be three stacks of 8x4x4.  If you look at the picture above, we have 4 stacks of wood.  Each is 1/4 of a cord.  In most cases, 1/4 of a cord will fit in the back of a pickup truck.
